Torino Wolves match preview

Both Torino and Wolverhampton have won the 7th place in their respective national championship last year, although the Italian team wouldn’t play in the qualifications of the Europa League if Milan didn’t withdraw from this competition. Torino had no problems in two previous rounds, just like Wolverhampton. The English team played two league rounds, while the Serie A hasn’t started yet. The two teams haven’t met before.

Torino

The Serie A hasn’t started yet and Torino played so far only matches in the European League qualifications. They easily passed two obstacles although they didn’t win all four matches. They soundly defeated Debrecen two times in the second qualifying round, but they drew once with Soligorsk in the third qualifying round. They relaxed a bit in the 2nd leg since they the first match by 5-0 and the match ended as 1-1 draw. Manager Mazzarri didn’t change much the team in previous matches but injuries had partially dictated who will play. Falque is injured, Edera, Lyanco and Parigini are out of actioin, while stopper Izzo is questionable.

Probable lineups FC Torino: Sirigu – N'Kolou, Bremer, Djidji – De Silvestri, Baselli, Meite, Ansaldi, Aina – Zaza, Belotti

Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton dominantly passed first two obstacles in the Europa League qualification and this is especially true for matches with Pyunik in the third round. The Wolves won two times by 4-0, however, the opponent was not a true measure of their quality and this away match in Turin is the first serious European duel. In the English Premier League Wolverhampton played two serious matches and both ended as a draw. They drew in Leicester 0-0 in the first round, and in the second they faced Manchester United at home and the result read at the eend 1: 1. They were closer to lose than to win given that goalkeeper Patricio defended a penalty. The strongest team was on the pitch, without a single newcomer, and it could be again.

Probable lineups Wolverhampton: Patricio – Coady, Bennett, Boly – Doherty, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Neves, Jonny – Jota, R. Jimenez

Verdict:

It is hard to objectively judge Torino’s shape based on four matches with weaker teams but they are the hosts now and that is definitely an advantage. The Wolves played well in two Premier League matches and we believe they are able to score a valuable goal in this away match.
