Sevilla Bayern Munich match preview

This is going to be the first match between Sevilla and Bayern, and the teams are in totally different mood. Sevilla underperformed in La Liga and after the latest three-game winless streak it moved down to the sixth place in the table, so it is quite certain that will not qualify for the Champions League next season. On the other hand Bayern is absolutely dominant in the Bundesliga and will win the new title, while last weekend it outclassed its biggest rival. In the round of 16 Sevilla had a difficult task but it managed to eliminated Manchester United, while Bayer dispatched Besiktas after with two wins.

Sevilla

As one weak result come after another in La Liga the Championship League becomes more and more important for Sevilla and clearly the team, after elimination of English Manchester United will do anything to do the same with Bavarian giant. If Sevilla plays like it did in the round of 16 Sevilla has something to hope for, when it was better in both matches with Manchester United, however, the Andalusians perform totally differently in La Liga, which is why they went down to the sixth position and now ahead of them is battle to reach the Europa League.

They can get there if the win the Copa del Rey, where they have reached the final in which will face Barcelona. Sevllla met this team last Saturday in La Liga and drew 2-2; in fact it had victory in its pocket as it had a lead of 2-0 and missed several chances to knockdown the great rival but in the finish of match they dropped their guard and received two goals in one minute. That is not encouraging sign for this match and on top of it midfielder Banega is suspended, instead of whom will play Pizarro.

Probable lineups FC Sevilla: S. Rico – Mercado, Kjaer, Lenglet, Escudero – N'Zonzi, Pizarro – Sarabia, Vazquez, Correa – Muriel

Bayern Munich

The Bavarians have no problems this season expect few at the beginning when they unexpectedly lost several matches. That was reason to replace manager Ancelotti with Heynckes, and with him at the helm Bayern functions almost perfectly. It plays only occasionally a weaker match in the Bundelsiga when it doesn’t win but the point advantage is so big that is not felt at all. Bayern waits for mathematical confirmation of the new title, which could have happened already last weekend when they faced its great rival Borussia Dortmund and taught them a lesson.

The Bavarians were maximally motivated in the match and by halftime they had lead of even 5-0, while the result read at the end 6-0. Lewandowski expectedly played the mayor role with the hat trick. It was a bit surprising that Bayern played practically with the strongest team despite that match with Sevilla was far more important. Out of standard starters only Kimmich stayed on the bench but he played in the second half. Now, he is going to be starter and it is possible that Vidal gets chance in order to reinforce the midfield, which means that T. Muller goes on the bench.

Probable lineups Bayern Munich: Ulreich – Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba – J. Martinez, Vidal – Robben, J. Rodriguez, Robben – Lewandowski

Verdict:

If Sevilla wants to surprise another favourite it has to do something at home and we expect to be aggressive and offensive in order to socre. Bayern seems so powerful that can score in this match without problems.
