SC Freiburg Stuttgart match preview

Freiburg was better placed on the table for a long time, but Stuttgart has been playing much better lately and the situation has changed, so now the neighbours have four points more and almost do not have to think about the struggle for survival, while Freiburg at five points is more than that zone and that is why this match is more important for them than Stuttgart. Freiburg is without a win in the previous three matches, and they only lost to Bayern. Stuttgart, on the other hand, has not lost for six rounds, and in the first part of the season they defeated Freiburg with 3-0.

SC Freiburg

Freiburg is coming to victories as the championship comes to an end and this team is over the relegation zone largely due to their unresolved results, which they have played a lot this season. They played five draws only in the second part of the championship, with two minimal victories, but they only lost twice, against Hannover and two rounds ago on their field from Bayern with 4-0. It is not their first debacle, because they had already lost some games, mostly against stronger opponents.

Before their defeat by Bayern, they played a good draw with Hoffenheim, and in the last round they played 0-0 against Hertha in Berlin. They were in a subordinate position and can be very satisfied with one point. Coach Streich made several changes in the team and he included Kubler and Kleindienst. Now we do not expect defensive midfielder Abrashi who is injured and will be replaced by Hofler.

Probable lineups SC Freiburg: Schwolow – Kubler, Gulde, Soyuncu, C.Gunter – R.Koch, Hofler – Holer, Haberer, Kleincienst – Petersen

VfB Stuttgart

A series of four wins was interrupted in the last round he, but it did not break Stuttgart’s series without defeats, which is now six games long. They played a draw in front of their supporters against Leipzig and given the strength of their opponents, as well as what was happening in the field, they can be satisfied with one point. Goalkeeper Zieler was the best individual of that match, so after an efficient match when they celebrated with 3-2 in Cologne, Stuttgart has again played a solid defensive match, which has already been played this season. Strikers Ginczek and especially Gomez did not prove themselves this time, because Gomez has scored two goals in Cologne.

The rest of the team has failed against Leipzig, though coach Korkut made only one change in the starting lineup, but it seems very important. Stuttgart has started playing good when Badstuber took the defensive midfielder’s position, although his position was at the center-back. Because of the injury, Baumgartl was absent in the last round so Badstuber had to play on the center-back position, while Aogo also jumped in, but it was not very good. Now Baumgartl should be back in the team.

Probable lineups VfB Stuttgart: Zieler – Beck, Pavard, Baumgartl, Insua – Badstuber – Ascacibar, Gentner, Er.Thommy – Gomez, Ginczek

Verdict:

Stuttgart is in a much better form, but Freiburg needs the points more and they are now on their field, where they rarely lose matches. Stuttgart rarely shines away and we do not believe they can win in this match.
