Roma Fiorentina match preview

This weekend Italian Serie A plays its 31st round and we start our analysis with Saturday’s derby between 3rd-placed Roma and 8th-positioned Fiorentina, which has 13 points fewer at the moment. However, the team from Florence is at the moment in the best shape of all teams in the league as it has five-game winning streak, while team from Rome won even 10 points from in last four rounds. We need to stress that Roma won in Florence last autumn by even 4-2

AS Roma

Since Roma players won last two matches played at the Olimpico stadium they can be definitely regarded as favourites to win the Saturday’s match. On top of it, Roma is still locked with Inter and Lazio in the race for remaining two places that lead to the Champions League, given that at the moment 3rd-placed Roma has just one point more than the Nerazzurri and three more than its great city rival.

However, Roma’s great problem ahead of match with ever better Fiorentina is definitely tiredness from the Champions League matches played last week, when they lost the 1st quarter-final leg to Barcelona 4-1 away, while the 2nd leg will be played in just three days at the Olimpico stadium in Rome. Right because of that we believe that manager di Francesco will make several changes in the starting line-up this time, where out of action due to injuries are defender Karsdorp, midfielder Nainggolan and winger Under.

Probable lineups AS Roma: Alisson – Peres, Manolas, Juan, Kolarov – Pellegrini, Gonalons – Gerson, Defrel, El Shaarawy – Dzeko

AC Fiorentina

We have said in the introduction the Fiorentina comes to Rome being team in the best shape in the whole league, given that the team won in last five rounds. True, in the same period they lost tragically deceased stopper Astori, but it seems that sudden loss of the team’s captain has given them even more strength to continue, as the team led by manager Pioli after the incident won at home Benevento and Crotone, and away Torino and Udinese.

Of course, the winning series has put them again in the race for European positions, given that at the moment Fiorentina has just four points fewer than 6th-placed Milan, while ahead and behind them are Atalanta and Sampdoria that have the same number of points. Let’s add that due to accrued yellow cards excellent winger Chiesa will skip match with Roma, while due to injuries out of action are midfielder Badelj and experienced forward Thereau.

Probable lineups AC Fiorentina: Sportiello – Milenkovic, Pezzella, Vitor Hugo, Biraghi – Dabo, Veretout – Benassi, Saponara, Eysseric – Simeone

Verdict:

It is fact that the home team, Roma, needs points more at the moment but in just three days this team will play a very demanding match in the Champions League, while on the other hand the guests from Florence come to the Olimpico stadium after five consecutive wins it is perhaps the most realistic to play here on goals on both sides.

Pick:  both teams to score 1.75 - 75/100 @1XBet
