PSG Monaco match preview

In the French Ligue 1 we have this Sunday match between first two positioned teams in the table, where six rounds before the end of league leading PSG has even 14 points more than Monaco. It means that if they win the Parisians will be officially declared as new champions of France. Fact that they already won Monaco three times this season confirms that are very much capable to do so; in the Super Cup, league and final of the League Cup

Paris Saint-Germain

When we add that PSG won Monaco in finish of previous season and in the League Cup and French Cup, it is quite clear why PSG thinks only about victory over Monaco. On top of it, if they succeed they will remove from the throne reigning champion of France which had put an end to four-year long reign of the Parisians in the French Ligue 1 last year. True, team led by manager Emery has taken the leading position from the very start of season and their advantage over Monaco only grew bigger with each new round.

However, last weekend PSG merely drew away with St. Etienne 1-1, which at the same time put an end to their nine-game winning streak in the league. Besides, near the end of March the Parisians won the League Cup after winning Monaco by 3-0, while before that they were eliminated from the round of 16 of the Champions League by Real Madrid. Let’s add that Sunday’s match will skip suspended stopper Kimpembe and midfielder Motta, while defender Alaves, midfielders Verratti and Draxler, and forward Neymar are injured.

Probable lineups Paris Saint-Germain: Areola – Meunier, Marquinhos, Silva, Berchiche – Rabiot, Diarra, Lo Celso – Mbappe, Cavani, di Maria

AS Monaco

Regarding still reigning champion of France we have already said that after this match they could officially lose the title given that in case of defeat by PSG the difference between them would grow to unreachable 17 points five rounds before the end of season. Because of that we believe that team led by manager Jardim will give its best to prevent the Parisians to celebrate the title in match against them, especially as they owe for already three defeats suffered this season.

The last one took place just two weeks in the final of League Cup when Monaco looked pretty impotent and in the end it was defeated by even 3-0 without ever putting in danger PSG goalkeeper, so this time they have to play more bravely if they want to stay undefeated at the Princes Park. Monaco is undefeated in the league since November 2017, and we need to add that at the moment out of action are only injured goalkeeper Benaglio and midfielder Traore.

Probable lineups AS Monaco: Subasic – Sidibe, Glik, Jemerson, Jorge – Fabinho, Tielemans – Lopes, Moutinho, Lemar – Falcao

Verdict:

Regardless that the Parisians won five previous duels with Monaco and, we expect to see a fully open match and goals on both sides of the Princes Park pitch.

Pick:  both teams to score 1.62 - 62/100 @1XBet
