Getafe Betis match preview

Two neighbours in the table close this La Liga round. Both teams are much closer to European positions than the drop zone, which is just fine for Getafe as the team has returned to elite football league in Spain this season. Although being neighbours Betis has four points more, which is why the team still hopes to reach the Europa League. Getafe plays variable recently and after victory comes defeat, without draws, while Betis won last two matches in a row. Their match played in the first part of season had ended as 2-2 draw, despite that Getafe had a lead of 2-0.

Getafe

Getafe doesn’t have to worry about survival in its first returnee season and naturally its fans are more than happy. The situation is such that the team can even dream about reaching the Europa League, although there is no pressure at all about that issue. Since the beginning of season Getafe plays constantly well and without oscillations. The team spent almost the entire season around mid-table, despite just two matches won away.

Getafe plays very well at home where it has won most of points, although it lost the last match played at its stadium and triumphed away in previous round. It is interesting that Getafe had a series of four draws in a row, while after that it didn’t draw in next six rounds. It unexpectedly lost to Levante at home two rounds ago, but Getafe made it up in previous round in San Sebastian where it defeated Real Sociedad 2-1. Bruno ended up on the bench, and Antunes played instead, which was the only change in the team, while now Arambarri is out of action due to injury.

Probable lineups Getafe: Guaita – D. Suarez, Djene, Cabrera, Antunes – Bergara, Fajr, Portillo, Ndiaye – Molina, Angel

Betis Sevilla

Betis doesn’t give up from the race for the Europa League and after two wins in a row its chances are better. Ahead of this round its city rival Sevilla, which occupies the 6th place in the table, has just two points more and that is definitely reachable but they have to play like they did in two previous matches that they won and scored by three goals in each of them. Betis lost just two times in last eight rounds but to Real Madrid and Valencia, stronger and better positioned teams, which together with draw with Real Sociedad gives five victories.

Betis lost away to Valencia 2-0 without putting a real fight but then it had its day when faced Alaves away which it defeated by 3-1, while against Espanyol in previous roeund the end result was even better 3-0. Manager Setien had made two changes in the team for match with Espanyol and Guardado and Boudebouz got chance. Now, Francis is injured and consequently questionable for this match, while Joaquin has recovered and it is possible to get place in the starting line-up.

Probable lineups Betis Sevilla: Adan – Mandi, J. Amat, Bartra – Guardado, J. Garcia, Firpo, Fabian – Joaquin, Moron, Boudebouz

Verdict:

Getafe mostly plays good when is at its stadium and we expect to play well against Betis. The guests are in a bit better shape but it is doubtful that are favourites to win, which is why we are going to forecast an uncertain duel with few goals.
