This is an interesting duel between two teams from the bottom of the table, which are still fearing for survival in Bundesliga. The results of Freiburg are seemingly good because they rarely lose matches, however, they were defeated in the last round and have had a lot of draws lately and are currently only five points above the relegation zone with two more than Werder, which is just above that zone. Nevertheless, Werder is undefeated in the previous three rounds, with the elimination from the Cup, in which they mastered Freiburg in the round of sixteen. They have achieved the first two victories this season, with the proviso that they have only played a draw once this time, so they are now three matches without any defeat, if we do not count the Cup, where they provided an excellent resistance against Bayer Leverkusen. In the championships, they first defeated Schalke as guests, and this is a very valuable win, after which they also celebrated against Wolfsburg with 3-1.

After Gelsenkirchen, coach Kohfeldt made three changes for the Cup match with Leverkusen and they were good again and in the last round only Bargfrede returned to the midfield instead of Delaney and everything seemed to be even better on the field. Kainz was great with two goals, and midfielder Junuzovic was also excellent with two assists and now it seems they have a winning combination when it comes to the team. Kohfeld will not change anything unless he is forced to, because Bargfrede and Johannsson are struggling with injuries, so Delaney and Belfodil are prepared to jump in.
