Coruna Malaga match preview

This is a classic derby between two teams that are on the last two positions on the table and not only that, but also the score for the relegation zone is remarkably high. Deportivo is in a better situation, since they are on the penultimate position with three points more than Malaga, but the host of this duel has eight points less than the relegation zone. It is all in line with the results, because Deportivo is without a win for almost four months, while Malaga after a similar unsuccessful season just celebrated in the previous round. In the first part of the season it was 3-2 for Malaga

Coruna

The rhythm in which Deportivo plays one game unresolved, and loses the next one will not definitely bring survival to the team from La Coruna, and the situation is getting worse because the time to fix things is getting smaller. The look at the schedule till the end is not very promising, and this is considerably the easiest match, with the proviso that Malaga has more points in the previous period. And coach Seedorf is waiting for the first win as coach of Deportivo, and he sat on the bench just two months ago and all he did were three draws.

All three were played in their Riazor, so that is nothing special. Scoring goals is a big problem for Deportivo, and they have only shaken the net of their opponent twice in the previous nine games. After the draw with Las Palmas, they lost to Atletico in the last round with a minimum of 1-0 and Luisinho has replaced the suspended Navarre and Mosquera who played for Andone. They did not play badly in Madrid and therefore only Navarro returns to the left back.

Probable lineups Deportivo: Ruben – Juanfran, Albentosa, Sidnei, Navarro – Mosquera, Muntari, Guilherme, Colak – A.Lopez, L.Perez

Malaga

Malaga is in an even worse situation than their host and they have been practically written off before, but then they played a draw with Celta in Vigo, and they defeated Villarreal on their field in the last round and hopefully there was hope again. Realistically they will have a really hard time to save themselves, because every new game brings more and more pressure and they also have to celebrate at Riazor, to reach their host at least. Prior to the above-mentioned triumph over Villarreal, they are without a win since the middle of December, with the proviso that they were mostly losing matches in that period and played draws very rarely.

They are the most inefficient team in the league, which is particularly evident in their away matches, where they have shaken the opponent’s net only six times. The change of coach did not bring anything positive for Malaga, since mid-January when Jose Gonzalez took over the team, but he seemed to have found a winning combination at least, since he has not changed anything after Vigo and they celebrated a win of 1-0 over Villarreal and now the same team goes to the field.

Probable lineups Malaga: Roberto – Rosales, L.Hernandez, Miquel, Torres – Iturra, Lacen, Success, Chory Castro – Rolan, En-Nesyri

Verdict:

Both teams are in a very difficult situation, but it is more realistic to expect that Deportivo will be saved and they should use the advantage of the home field in this match and keep any chance. Malaga would only destroy the host with a win which is why we anticipate the triumph of Deportivo in this match.
