Augsburg VfB Stuttgart match preview

Augsburg broke the forecasts and this team was surprisingly good and they managed to take positions that are very close to the European. Stuttgart failed to make that breakthrough and they are in the lower part of the table with four point more than the relegation zone before this round, and seven less than their host. The mentioned difference was created in the first part of the season, because these two teams have identical results in the second part. The first this season’s duel between Augsburg and Stuttgart ended without a goal.

FC Augsburg

Augsburg is not playing particularly well in the second half of the season and both wins in the five rounds were made in their field and their rivals were not too strong, with the proviso that Eintracht is very unpleasant for everyone this season, and that triumph still has a bit more value. At two difficult matches in M'gladbach and Leipzig, they could not do anything and they were defeated with 2-0, while they played a draw with the last ranked Cologne.

However, it is most important for Augsburg that they are in the upper part of the table and that they are at a safe distance from the relegation zone, and by winning this match they could make an unimaginable difference in comparison to the threatened teams. Expectedly coach Baum did not want to change much after the dominant party and victory over Eintracht and only Khedira has returned to the midfield, while they completely failed in Leipzig in the last round. And besides, we do not expect any changes, especially because several players are out action due to injuries or suspensions.

Probable lineups FC Augsburg: Hitz – Framberger, Danso, Hinteregger, Max – Khedira, D.Baier – Heller, Koo, Caiuby – Gregoritsch

VfB Stuttgart

Since they were desperately bad at the end of the first part of the championship, we can now say for Stuttgart that they are still solid in five rounds of the second part, with the proviso that there is nothing new about this team and the points are mostly won on their home field. They have made two triumphs and both with 1-0, while they mastered Borussiu M'gladbach in the last round and it was they won one point in Wolfsburg. They have for now won only two points outside of Stuttgart, and they are the worst guest team in the league.

In the last two games, the team of Stuttgart is led by a new coach Korkut and their game is obviously much better, and after a draw and in Wolfsburg he made one change that proved to be a full hit. Ginczek has played instead of Donis and he was the only goal scorer that brought them a win over Borussia. Now there will probably be no changes, although striker Gomez was ill, but he should still play.

Probable lineups VfB Stuttgart: Zieler – Beck, Baumgartl, Pavard, Insua – Ascacibar, Aogo – Er.Thommy, Gentner – Ginczek, M.Gomez

Verdict:

Stuttgart is playing a little better with a new coach and we expect them to be very strong in this match, against Augsburg, which is very good on their field, but they sometimes have a bad day and it seems very certain that there will not be a lot of goals.
