Hoffenheim RB Leipzig match preview

Hoffenheim debuted in the group stage of the Champions League, while Leipzig has qualified in the group stage of Europa League. They have started the championships quite similarly and they are neighbours in the middle of the table, but Leipzig has one point more. Both teams have managed to celebrate in the last round, while last season Hoffenheim solved both of their mutual duels in their favour and both were very effective.

Hoffenheim

After five rounds Hoffenheim is in the middle of the table, but it seems that this team is raising the form, which is shown by the results, because Hoffenheim is undefeated in the previous three games. The series started with a draw in the Champions League against Shakhtar and thus they won the first historic point in the Champions League, to which they had topped a draw and a triumph in Bundesliga. They regret that those were not two victories, because they had the lead against Borussia Dortmund and more players on the field, but the end result was still 1-1.

They received a goal when they had numerical advantage on the field, however, it did not throw them out of the rhythm and on Tuesday they made their first guest win. They celebrated against Hannover with 3-1, and coach Nagelsmann has again made several changes in the team. N.Schulz and Kramaric could now jump in the starting lineup, and Nordtveit and Demirbay have recovered, but they will now be on the bench.

Probable lineups 1899 Hoffenheim: Baumann – Akpoguma, Vogt, Bicakcic – Kaderabek, Grillitsch, N.Schulz, Bittencourt – Kramarić – Szalai, Joelinton

RB Leipzig

Leipzig is only once defeated in the championship so far and this was in the first round against Borussia in Dortmund. After that, they played four games without defeat, and they only played a draw against Fortuna and Eintracht. It is bad that they were defeated at the start of Europa League from Salzburg, and they achieved both championship victories in front of their fans. First they defeated Hannover, then Stuttgart in the last round.

They were completely dominant in that match and they eventually deservedly won with 2-0, which is the first match this season in which they did not score, not counting the Europa League qualifiers. Due to the large number of games played, coach Rangnick constantly makes changes in the starting lineup to keep up the freshens in the team, though there were not a lot of changes against Stuttgart compared to their match in Frankfurt. Laimers and Saracchia were on the back positions, and Mukael and Halstenberg played. Now they will switch places again, and Ilsanker and Augustin will jump in.

Probable lineups RB Leipzig: Gulacsi – Laimer, Orban, Upamecano, Saracchi – Ilsanker, Demme – Kampl, Forsberg – Ti.Werner, Augustin

Verdict:

Hoffenheim and Leipzig have been playing well lately, but Leipzig has a lot of problems when playing on the side and they have achieved both triumphs in front of their supporters, and Hoffenheim is better as host, which is why we give them advantage in this match.
